LATEST DETAILS ON THE FALL TOURNAMENT TOUR:

Players who compete in the Fall Tournament Tour will receive the following:

  1. Play in 4 weekend AAU / Zero Gravity Tournaments (minimum 10 games) - DAYS AND DATES ARE AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS EMAIL

  2. Six team practices.  Games and practices will be coached by current Acton-Boxborough assistant varsity coach and former W.P.I. and 1000+ point scorer, Sam Longwell.  A second game coach will be announced shortly. The practices will take place on Thursday evenings at the Nashoba Brooks School in Concord. Dates for team practices are as follows: September 13, 20, October 18, 25 and November 1. The 6th practice is TBA.

  3. There are 16 skills clinics under the direction of Acton-Boxborough Head Coach Rick Kilpatrick. He will be assisted by other high school coaches from the area. Fall Tournament Tour players should participate in a minimum of 8 of the 16 sessions, although may come to as many as they want. The 16 skills clinics run for 8 weeks on Tuesday evenings (6:30-8) and Saturday afternoons (3:45-5:15). The first skills clinic is on Tuesday September 11th.  Players may pick and choose as they go along to which skills clinics they will attend (in other words, you do not have to decide now which one's your son will attend)

  4. All players will receive a Nike 'Elevation Basketball' reversible uniform and Elevation Basketball cinch backpack.

All tournaments will be within an hour drive from the Acton, Boxborough, Littleton, Harvard area.  (And if you have sons in multiple grades, all of the tournaments we enter will be at the same location).

The specific tournament locations are still uncertain but there will be four in total.  Two of the weekends will be one day (Saturday only) two-game tournaments and the other two will be two day (Saturday AND Sunday), minimum three-game tournaments.  The four weekends will be:

  • September 22 (Sat only)

  • October 13 and 14 (Sat and Sun)

  • October 20 (Sat only)

  • November 3 and 4 (Sat and Sun)

The cost for the program is $480. Payment is due by August 27th. You can pay on-line via Pay Pal or mail in a check. Information for payment is located on our web page at this link.

Again, if you have any questions, please email me.  And please let me know one way or the other if your son will participate.

The response to this program has been FANTASTIC, Coach Sam and I are excited about it, and we hope your son will join us!

TOURNAMENT TOUR FAQ!

1.   Where will the practices and games take place?  Skills sessions and team practices will be at either Acton-Boxborough Regional High School or the Nashoba Brooks School in Concord.   We will enter AAU and/or Zero Gravity Tournaments. These will take place locally.

2.  What types of skills will players work on? There will be several but we will place particular emphasis on the areas that I see most lacking in emerging players: footwork, shooting, ball and team defense, and passing.  That's just a few...there will be others! And whatever skills we work on will be applicable to 5 on 5 game play!

3.  When and where are the Tournaments?  The specific tournament locations are still uncertain but there will be four in total.  There are several options every weekend for AAU/Zero Gravity tournaments, and we want to be sure to choose the ones that work best for us.  Two of the weekends will be one day (Saturday only) 2-game tournaments and the other two will be two day (Saturday AND Sunday), minimum 3-game tournaments.  The four weekends will be:

  • September 22 (Sat only)

  • October 13 and 14 (Sat and Sun)

  • October 20 (Sat only)

  • November 3 and 4 (Sat and Sun)

4.  How many players will there be on a team?  Minimum 9 - Maximum 12.  With no more than 12, you can be assured your son will get the attention he deserves and the opportunity to play!

5.  So how is this different from other programs?   Like anything, AAU and club teams can vary in quality.  Regardless of your experience (if any) with other programs, I can promise you the following about this program:

  • There will be skill development, practices, evaluation and feedback!  This will not just be all about the games!

  • Your son will get the attention he deserves, both in practices and games.  He will play in every game and increase his confidence over the course of the Fall.  He will be coached by knowledgeable and enthusiastic coaches who love teaching the game.

  • Your son will learn skills!  Games are fun but at younger ages learning and developing skills are most important!

  • By the end of the season your son will have a clearer understanding of both his strengths and areas in need of improvement.  If he aspires to keep playing at higher levels, while there are no guarantees he will make every team, I can guarantee he will know what he needs to improve upon to better his chances.

  • Your son will have fun and make some new friends!  Elevation Basketball is open to players from multiple communities, thus players will have the opportunity to meet and compete with new friends and teammates!

6.   What is the cost?  Cost for the Fall Tournament Tour is $480.  And this includes everything:

  1. Four Tournaments (minimum 10 games).

  2. Six team practices

  3. Minimum 8 and up to 16 skills clinics (we prefer players attend at least 8 of the skills clinics but are welcome and encouraged to attend as many of the 16 they wish!)

  4. Nike Dry-Fit Reversible Uniform

7.   I’m interested!  What do I do next?

  • If you have specific questions, email Coach Kilpatrick at rick@elevationbasketballma.com

  • Complete the form at this link.  This does not imply you are fully committing but that you are interested and would like to learn more.

  • There will be organizational ‘Open Gyms’ on Sunday August 12th and Saturday August 18th from 10am-11:00am at Acton-Boxborough Reg. High School.  We hope all interested players can attend at least one of these sessions.  If you cannot, email Coach Kilpatrick. These sessions will allow interested players to play with one another and meet the coaches, and for parents to ask questions.
